The “Additional” Child Tax Credit can be as high as $1,000 for each qualifying child. What is good about this alternative is that the “Additional” Child tax credit may be able to lower your tax liability to below zero which may entitle you receive a refund for this excess. To qualify for this ” Additional” Child tax Credit, you are required to have a tax liability that is less than the allowable child tax credit, meet the requirements of the regular Child Tax Credit and earn more than $11,750 in 2009. If you meet these requirements, then you may be entitled to receive a refund for the “Additional” Child Tax Credit. To compute this Additional Child Tax Credit there are more limitations and requirements that are not within the scope of this article and you should read IRS Publication 972.

Getting an Insight into Our Chakra System

Posted in Education at 12:01 am by Anne-Marie Laureaut

New Age philosophers and alternative medicine practitioners use the term Chakrology to illustrate the study of the human bodys energy points also known as the chakra system. It was the Ancient Hindus who first became aware of the existence of a chakra system in our being and used it for the practice of healing.

There are seven major energy centers among the several thousands that make up our chakra system. These seven major chakra points are the doorways of energy that we gather from our environment and surroundings (including other individuals) that make up the complete person that we are in terms of spirituality, physical and mental existence as a human being.

Each major energy point of our bodys chakra system possesses a unique function which contributes to a unique feature of our individuality. Although they work independently of each other, they are at the same time processing the energy they gather towards a common goal: our well being.

An interesting note to consider is the similarity of all the models used to portray our chakra system, regardless of philosophical and/or educational background. They all illustrate a connection to our glandular system!

The common representation of our major chakras is a straight ascending line along the spinal column from the base to the top of the head. Modern representations go one step further and assign the primary colors of the color wheel to each of the seven major energy points for a better illustration and to depict particular energy representations as colors symbolize different energy levels as well.

The importance of the seven major energy centers of our body can not be simply disregarded. Since they are continuously open (but invisible) gateways of energy from our surroundings, they directly affect our health and total well being should any glitch in their processes occur. Which is why, even if they are invisible to the eye, taking good care of them is necessary for good health.

The seven major chakra points of our body have an integral role in making us what we are ” healthy or unhealthy.

An integral approach to taking care of our body is necessary in order to achieve total wellness. Considering that the nature of our chakra centers is a continuous interaction between themselves, the environment and our body, it can not be dissociated from the physical being simply because it can not be seen. Although this is the case, the physical manifestations of malfunction is very clear and concrete as each one of our energy centers affect certain parts of our physical and spiritual being.

It is widely accepted that only five of our seven energy centers possess both an active and passive quality. These are the second to the sixth energy centers. Of the seven, the first and seventh energy centers do not have this active/passive quality inherent in the other five. This first and seventh chakra points are the ones that initially receive more energy than others.

It is necessary to understand and be conscious of the functioning of our chakra centers because more energy is channeled through the first and seventh energy centers. With constant exercise of our chakra points, we can manipulate them to send and receive energy equally.

How To Super-Power WordPress For Search Engine Optimization

Posted in Site Promotion at 12:07 am by David Anttony

Wordpress out of the box provides primary management of the fundamental SEO meta information. To extend the functionality we add our own super-charged version of the All-In-One-SEO Pack. The SEO pack makes it simple to modify the page title and page meta description.

The All-In-One-SEO Pack is a great WordPress plugin that completes the SEO aspects for WordPress. For some reason WordPress still has not got the SEO fixed out of the box.

The All-In-One-SEO Pack allows you you to change the most important page components – page title and page description. It also allows you to change the page keywords, but as we all know, search engines no longer take note of these because they have been spammed too much in the past. Google stopped using the keywords for page ranking in the early 2000’s.

Page Title HTML tags

This is the No1 SEO element to manipulate. Always make sure that you manipulate the page title. The page title appears in the browser window at the very top of the screen. Search engines use this in the listings and display it in their search results.

) between the words.

Just like with a book the page title of an HTML page is the most significant factor. Never leave this element to chance. Make sure you use keywords in the title.

If your page needs to stretch to cover two or 3 keywords we have learned that you can still get solid rankings from adding multiple keywords to the title. But do remember that the closer the page title is to the keyword you want to rank for the better.

If you are a larger branded company you will likely want to add your company or brand name into the page title seeing this is exposed on Google. Keep it short and clean though. Do not add your brand statement just your brand or company name.

Page Descriptions

This element is NOT used by search engines for ranking purposes. Even So, most search engines will utilize this in their search results so it is important. We have found that Google will use the description most of the time. We have not yet learned how it resolves if to use it or not. At other times Google will use the first piece of text that it can find on the page. On Flash pages this can be an issue seeing there is no actual text content. This is one reason why you should always add at least one sentence of HTML text on a Flash based page so Google and other search engines have something meaningful to display in the search results.

By having a good description it will increase your click through rates because the text will be more fascinating to people. Ensure that you use a maximum of 156 characters. If you use any more characters Google will truncate the rest. If you can keep your descriptions to–0 characters or less this is even better seeing Google sometimes adds a date to the start of the description which is part of the 156 characters it displays.

SEO Meta data shown on Google listing

Changing the meta data and page title

At the bottom of every page and post you will find the meta tags plugin details. Update the details appropriately. Note: If you can only use see the title for the plugin and no details, just click the title and the section will expand.

Hypnosis – What It Is And What It Is Not

Posted in Health at 12:07 am by Sarah Cox

Hypnosis and its subset, hypnotherapy, have always been steeped in misconceptions. Some consider them to be occult whereas others reject them as pseudo science. Some of the popular misconceptions linked with hypnosis and the truth behind them are discussed here.

There is no practice of occult involved in hypnosis. It is a very simple technique, which can be explained without much difficulty with the help of psychology and other scientific methods. People refuse to acknowledge hypnosis even after seeing participants successfully undergoing it in public sessions. They hold that those who can be hypnotized are somehow weak mentally. But that is not true at all. Hypnosis can in fact work on people who are mentally tough and are trying their best to resist the spell.

Another myth is that hypnosis is an altered state of consciousness, which again is a serious misconception. A person under hypnosis does not get segregated from the external world, but stays completely aware of the happenings around him. Hypnosis actually induces a state of complete relaxation characterized by a rise in levels of concentration, and this heightened awareness helps the subject to absorb new inputs without difficulty.

Another misconception, which has been propagated by some researchers, claims that hypnosis can work on merely 5% of the human population. Researchers have hit upon this low percentage because they have made use of the same hypnosis procedure on all people without focusing on their individual traits. Hypnosis can’t be oversimplified like that and works only if there are different methodologies for different personality styles.

Meditation and hypnosis are often confused with each other. However, meditation is essentially a personal feeling that has got nothing to do with communication, whereas communication is an integral part of any successful hypnosis. Trance too has no connection with hypnosis at all. Trance is again a state of mind sans any communication, whereas communication forms the very basis of the hypnosis technique.

A sizeable number of people believe that it is not possible to bring about changes in one’s looks and conduct through hypnosis training or hypnotherapy. Hypnosis obviously cannot achieve something that is unnatural to the body. But it can bring about an improvement in physical health by altering behavioural patterns like overeating and constant smoking by raising motivation levels in an individual.

Experiencing hypnotherapy is a fine way to lead a happy and fulfilling life, and therefore one must not pay heed to the misconceptions, and go for hypnotic sessions with an unbiased mind.

What is Bruxism?

Posted in Health at 12:05 am by Ellen Roberts

Simply defined, teeth grinding is the act of consciously or unconsciously clenching your teeth either during the day or while you sleep. It is clinically referred to as bruxism. Bruxism is considered both a medical and a dental problem. This is because it affects both the teeth and all of the structure near it, including the head. Have you ever had a roommate or a sleeping partner that snores? Well you might have had one that grinds their teeth in their sleep as well. However, unlike snoring, teeth grinding sounds are a little on the low side, although it can be as bothersome as well. Teeth grinding usually happens during sleep.

Grinding your teeth at night can cause a painful jaw in the morning. Over time, teeth grinding can cause serious tooth damage, such as cracking of enamel. Many people who grind their teeth find their jaw is tense during the day as well, but the worst grinding happens at night. And this is where the real problem arises. Teeth grinding can keep your sleeping partner awake, causing relationship difficulties. If you grind your teeth, you will know the problems that it can cause.

Tobacco, caffeine, alcohol or drug use may also cause teeth grinding. Having a vitamin deficiency (such as of calcium or magnesium) may be linked with teeth grinding, so it’s important to follow a well-balanced, nutritious diet and take a multivitamin supplement if needed. In rare instances, teeth grinding can be a side-effect of antidepressant medicines. The most likely culprits to teeth grinding are things like stress, sleep disorders, crooked or missing teeth and having an abnormal bite, where the upper and lower teeth do not come together normally (known as malocclusion). Also, short-term teeth grinding may be caused by an illness, such as a cold, ear infection, pinworms or allergies; check with your doctor if the grinding continues after the medical condition has passed.

Most of the time, treatment is not needed and many children will stop grinding their teeth on their own. If left untreated, however, teeth grinding can sometimes damage the teeth or cause headaches and tmj (temporomandibular joint) pain. Your dentist may recommend a mouth guard or appliance (a splint for the teeth) to protect the teeth and possibly prevent grinding. Orthodontic correction may be needed if the teeth or jaws are poorly aligned.

Treating and preventing stress or anxiety through counseling, relaxation, exercise, meditation, hypnotherapy or any number of other stress-relief methods may help eliminate teeth grinding as well. Finally, keeping the jaws relaxed in the daytime by not chewing on pens, pencils, fingernails or gum may prevent grinding and clenching at night. Don’t Procrastinate — Let 2010 Be The Year You Get Into Medical School With These 5 Tips.

Posted in Education at 12:08 am by Nicholas Walker

Have the rules changed? Is anything different about getting into medical school this year than last? Not really, no — the same fundamentals still apply. But just in case you need a refresher on the 5 things you should be doing — right now — to increase your chances, we’ve come to the rescue.

#5: Practice Your Admissions Interview.

Sure, you want to keep loose during your interview, in case an unexpected question comes up that you need to answer. But at the same time, you want to know what you’re talking about, and look as though you have the confidence in your answers that you need to have. The only way to get this is by rehearsing.

#4: Do Your Research Online.

There are a lot of great eBooks, articles (ahem) and blog posts dedicated to mastering the medical school admissions process. Spend a few hours, print out 20 of the most comprehensive and helpful ones you can find, and refer back to them if you find yourself getting off track. If you put the work in, it’ll show.

#3: Read, Read, Read.

If you’re about to do a medical school interview, you might be faced with a question about some of the current issues facing doctors in 2010. Medical schools want to see well-informed, curious, interested candidates who are conscious of the role doctors play in society. Actively seek out literature to broaden your perspective. Read Atul Gawande and Oliver Sacks, and stay sharp.

#2: Get the ‘Elements of Style’.

Ah, the dreaded motivation letter. Some of us have the unfortunate tendency, when faced with having to write something ‘official’, of sounding like a lawyer when we write, or like a government apparatchik circa 1950s-era Soviet Russia. Read some books on writing style. Have people you know are good writers look over your work. It’ll serve you far beyond just the admissions process.

#1: Do You Need Outside Help?

Even if you take to heart every single piece of advice in the world, it might not be exactly adapted to your particular situation or really play to your strengths. To figure out what those are, you might want to contact a professional who can help you directly — someone who understands how to get into medical school and can help get you from “what do I do now?” to “I made it!

Main Responsibilities Of A Funeral Director

Posted in Business And Finance at 12:10 am by Alvin Cruise

The primary task of a funeral director is to take care of everything from the pre burial or pre cremation rituals.

There are four essential tasks of a funeral director, they are: (a) shifting of the corpse to the mortuary; (b) anointing and preparing the body for service; (c) arranging for the services for people to pay their last respects to the departed and; (d) the final act of cremation or burial as per the beliefs of the family.

These tasks entail taking care of essential activities like deciding the venue and timings of the memorial services, arranging for a car to transport the body, and writing obituaries and posting them in newspapers or the electronic media. In addition, the funeral directors also have to ensure that the flowers and decorations are in place. Besides this, they have to prepare the body for the service by bathing and anointing it and arrange conveyance for the family and friends assembling for the ceremony.

Besides these tasks, a funeral director has to take care of the job of doing the essential paperwork formalities required after a person’s death. He helps the family obtain a death certificate. He is also entrusted with other tasks like helping the family with obtaining the insurance money and to take benefit of veterans’ burial scheme. He also takes care of problems related to clearance of pension and annuities of the deceased person to the rightful beneficiary and helps the family to estimate a budget for the services.

He also has to associate with a wide range of experts to perform his tasks in an efficient and systematic manner. He must be able to communicate with physicians, florists, casket makers and pastors equally well.

Finally, it is important for funeral directors to come forward and provide some comfort to the bereaved family on an unofficial level, so as to help them get over the loss of a loved one. Some funeral directors overlook this task, but it is an essential part of their service no doubt.

Boston Bruins’ Scoring Legend Phil Esposito

Posted in Recreation And Sports at 12:09 am by Ross Everett

Although many of his offensive records have now been left in the dust by Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux, former Boston Bruins/New York Rangers center Phil Esposito is still regarded by hockey experts as one of the greatest players in NHL history. He’s forever enshrined in hockey’s hall of fame along with brother, goaltender Tony Esposito.

Esposito was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario and his prodigious hockey talent quickly became apparent. He was signed by the Chicago Blackhawks as a teenager, and made his NHL debut in’64 quickly earning a spot on the teams top line between Bobby Hull and Marcel Dionne. In’67, Esposito was traded to the Boston Bruins along with Ken Hodge and Fred Stanfield. Within a few years Hodge and Stanfield blossomed into All Stars, while Esposito quickly took his place alongside his former teammate Hull as the best scorer in the league. Suffice to say that Boston fans were of the opinion that theyd gotten the best of the deal.

Esposito began to shred the NHL record book in Boston, prompting Bruins fans to display car bumper stickers that read Jesus Saves; Esposito scores on the rebound. In’69, he became the first NHL player to top the 100 point mark (combined goals and assists) for the season”he obliterated the record with 126 points, which would be the first of six times that hed top the century mark. He topped 100 points in five straight seasons between’71 and’75, missing a sixth straight season by a single point with 99 in’70.

In the’70-71 season, Esposito scored 76 goals to smash the NHL’s single season scoring record. That record stood for over a decade until Wayne Gretzky scored 79 for the Edmonton Oilers in’81-82. Gretzky also broke Espositos single season points record of 154. Perhaps the most amazing element of Espositos game was the frequency with which he put the puck on net”Espo had 550 shots on goal in’70-71. No one has since come close”in fact, just last Alexander Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals became the first player to come within 100 shots of Espositos mark.

In’75, Esposito was traded to the New York Rangers where his experience, intelligence for the game and nose for the puck made him a valuable component of the Broadway Blueshirts offense and he was named team captain. Until the very end of his career, he remained a dangerous scoring threat that all opposing teams were forced to reckon with.

After his retirement in’75, he remained active in hockey. He served as the GM of the Rangers before helping secure an expansion team for Tampa, Florida in’92. Esposito served as the President and GM of the Tampa Bay Lightning until’98. After stepping away from formal duties, he’s remained a very visible member of the hockey media. He hosts a daily hockey radio show on XM Radio, and has even done some acting appearing in a recurring role as a fire chief on the TV series Rescue Me.

Ross Everett is a freelance sports writer and highly respected authority on sports betting odds comparison. He writing has appeared on a variety of sports sites including sportsbooks and betting odds portal sites. He lives in Northern Nevada with three Jack Russell Terriers and an emu. He is currently working on an autobiography of former energy secretary Donald Hodell.

Great Ways To Raise Money Fast!

Posted in Business And Finance at 12:08 am by James Scott

Regulation D, Under Sections 4(2) and 3(b) of the Securities Act of 1933, the SEC adopted Regulation D to coordinate the various limited offering exemptions and to streamline the existing requirements applicable to private offers and sales of securities. The Regulation establishes three exemptions from registration in Rules 504, 505, and 506.

Rule 504, which provides an exemption for non-reporting companies unless they are “blank check” issuers or certain “shells”, stipulates that: The sale of up to $1,000,000 of securities in a 12-month period is permitted provided that there is no general solicitation, the securities sold are restricted securities and cannot be resold except pursuant to a registration statement or exemption, and a notice must be filed with the SEC within 15 days after the first sale. Rule 504 does not provide an exemption under any state laws. In certain limited circumstances where an offering is conducted under state accredited investor exemptions, securities offered under Rule 504 may be freely transferrable. Unlike Rules 505 and 506, Rule 504 does not mandate that specified disclosure be provided to purchasers. Nonetheless, the business person should take care that sufficient information is provided to meet the full disclosure obligations which exist under the antifraud provisions of the securities laws.

Rule 505 was adopted by the SEC to provide small businesses more flexibility in raising capital than under Rule 504 – but without the uncertainty of determining the quality of the purchasers that generally is involved in using Rule 506. Rule 505 provides issuers a limited offering exemption for sales of securities totaling up to $5 million in any 12-month period.

Rule 505 contains certain restrictions regarding “accredited investors” and non-accredited persons. The-term “accredited investor” includes:

Banks, insurance companies, registered investment companies, business development companies, or small business investment companies; Certain employee benefit plans for which investment decisions are made by a bank, insurance company, or registered investment adviser; Any employee benefit plan (Within the meaning of Title I of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act) with total assets in excess of $5 million; Charitable organizations, corporations or partnerships with assets in excess of $5 million; Directors, executive officers, and general partners of the issuer; Any entity in which all the equity owners are accredited investors; Natural persons with a net worth of at least $1 million; Any natural person with an income in excess of $200,000 in each of the two most recent years or joint income with a spouse in excess of $300,000 for those years and a reasonable expectation of the same income level in the current year; and Trusts with assets of at least $5 million, not formed to acquire the securities offered, and whose purchases are directed by a sophisticated person.

If the issuer sells any securities to non-accredited investors, it must furnish to all investors the same type of information as required by Regulation A. It must also furnish audited financial statements.

If an issuer other than a limited partnership cannot obtain audited financial statements without unreasonable effort or expense, only the issuer’s balance sheet (to be dated within 120 days of the start of the offering) must be audited.

Limited partnerships unable to obtain required financial statements without unreasonable effort or expense may furnish financial statements prepared on the basis of federal income tax requirements and examined and reported on by an independent public or certified accountant in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards; and The issuer must also be available to answer questions by prospective purchasers about the issuer or the offering.

Further restrictions under Rule 505 include:

The total offering price of each issue of securities may not exceed $5 million. The offering may not be made by means of general solicitation or general advertising. The issuer may sell the securities to an unlimited number of “accredited investors” and to 35 non-accredited persons. There are no requirements of “sophistication” or “wealth” for persons to whom the securities are sold. A company must take any necessary steps to ensure that the purchasers are acquiring securities for investment only, not for resale. The securities are thus “restricted” and investors must be informed that they may not be able to sell except pursuant to a registration statement or exemption from registration. The issuer is not required to file any offering materials with the Commission. Fifteen days after the first sale in the offering, the issuer must file a notice of sales on Form D. The notice also contains an undertaking under this Rule for the issuer to furnish the Commission, upon its staff s request, any information given to non-accredited purchasers in connection with the offering. Rule 505 does not provide an exemption from state securities laws.

SEC Rule 506 offers and sales of securities by an issuer that satisfy the conditions stated below are deemed transactions not involving any public offering within the meaning of Section 4(2) of the Securities Act. For an offering to be considered exempt from the registration requirements, Rule 506 stipulates: There is no ceiling on the amount of money which may be raised. No general solicitation or general advertising is permitted. The issuer may sell its securities to an unlimited number of accredited investors and 35 non accredited purchasers. Unlike Rule 505, all non-accredited purchasers (either alone or with a purchaser representative) must be sophisticated – that is, have sufficient knowledge and experience in financial and business matters to render them capable of evaluating the merits and risks of the prospective investment. The term “accredited investor” is defined under Rule 505.

If the issuer sells any securities to non-accredited investors, it must furnish to all investors the same type of information as required by Regulation A. It must also furnish the same financial information as would be required by registration on Form S-1.

If the issuer cannot obtain audited financial statements without unreasonable effort or expense, then financial statements may be provided in accordance with the special treatment described under Rule 505.

The securities sold are “restricted” under the same stipulations in Rule 505.

A company is required to file a notice of the offering on Form D at SEC headquarters within 15 days after the first sale in the offering. All states except New York provide an exemption from state securities laws for offerings under Rule 506 but the company must file a copy of the Form D and pay a filing fee in each state. New York has a distinctive law which makes a Rule 506 offering within that state impractical.

Accredited Investor Exemption

The Small Business Investment Incentive Act of 1980 created a new statutory exemption from registration under the Securities Act for transactions involving offers and sales of securities by any issuer solely to one or more “accredited investors.” Under Section 4(6):

The total offering price of each issue of securities under the exemption may not exceed the limit on small offerings set by Section 3(b) the Securities Act, which currently is $5 million per issue. The offering may not be made by means of any form of advertising or public solicitation.

The term “accredited investor” is defined to include the same individuals and entities as included for purposes of Rules 505 and 506. The issuer is required to file a notice of sales on Form D with the Commission 15 days after the initial sale is made in reliance on the exemption.

Planning A Trade Show Display

Posted in Services at 12:08 am by Adriana Noton

Almost every industry has an annual trade show. Some are big, some are small, and some have never been heard of outside their niche industry. In every case, however, the displays at the trade show will determine what companies go home with new customers and good leads, and who goes home empty handed. The right trade show display will make you or break you.

Some companies just opt for a table, a simple sign, and some brochures. This is fine for small local companies at a local exhibition of perhaps accountants. But to make a real impact you’ll need more. It’s a good idea to own your display rather than renting pieces for each show, especially if you attend multiple shows during the year. If you can’t afford anything of this magnitude, there are many companies to rent all your display needs from. Most companies are familiar with your particular show and can help you choose what works well with the crowds expected.

Most large firms employ professionals who do nothing more than manage their annual trade show circuit. The larger the company, the more shows they usually attend. Their on staff managers will make certain that all display materials are shipped to the proper location, they arrange for set up and frequently go to do it themselves, and then they arrange for break down and shipping the display to the next location, or back to storage.

It is vital to secure what is considered prime floor space. Newcomers to a particular trade show find themselves at a disadvantage because the companies who come year after year usually are given the privilege of all prime space if they secure it early enough. Prime space is considered any booth that is located directly inside the front entrance or visible from the front entrance. This is why your trade show display must be top notch.

A typical booth is 10 x 10 feet or 10 x 5 feet depending on the location. It’s basically enough for one table, an overhead sign, your banner with company name, and maybe two chairs. If you have your own display set up, fine. Otherwise you can either rent what you need from the trade center, or in some cases, these items are provided as part of your show fee. Display booth rental fees depends on your location.

Small companies will usually reserve a small 10 x 10 booth. Their displays are usually simple, whether they own them or whether they rent them for each show. Even though rented displays can be customized, many companies just don’t have the funds to make their displays turn heads and impress customers.

Larger companies will always use the large prime space whenever available. Their displays are custom designed, professionally set up, and professionally decorated with plants, desks, chairs, and even refreshments for visitors.

Your display will dictate your success.

Designing your display is extremely important for your trade shows. We offer design services and well balanced displays, ranging from roll up stand, banner stand, and of course, trade show displays. Check us out!

Asbestos Settlement Facts.

Posted in Health at 12:08 am by Thomas Goldman

An asbestos settlement can be considerable, sometimes in excess of tens of millions of dollars. Exposure to asbestos is the cause of a specific type of cancer called mesothelioma, and since data on the link between asbestos and mesothelioma has been known since about 1960, litigation can often legitimately claim that the employer should have been aware of the risks.

The earliest asbestos settlement was made in 1929, and the number of such legal actions has increased since the link was proved in 1960. There are many results of the disease that can be claimed for as well as the disease itself. These can include things such as as travel to medical and healthcare facilities, loss of earnings, items purchased due to the disease, loss to other family members and compensation from care provided whether paid-for or not.

Mesothelioma is most commonly caused by direct exposure to this chemical during work. Types of employment bringing workers into contact with this dangerous chemical include boilermakers, shipbuilders and laggers due to the fact that asbestos was used as lagging to insulate boilers. Electricians, carpenters, builders and joiners, who need to drill or cut asbestos insulation as they perform their jobs, motor mechanics exposed to asbestos used in brake pads and clutches, plumbers and pipe fitters who work with types of asbestos pipe insulation, and teachers, fire fighters, police officers, managers and other professions can all come into direct contact with the chemical. Indirect contact can also cause the same medical problems. This might result from doing the laundry of those who work with the chemical or might even be caused by children playing on playing areas which include asbestos mining waste materials.

It is often possible to get a legal professional to handle such case on a “no win no fee” basis so that any legal fees are taken as a percentage of the claim awarded. Most of the time an asbestos settlement is obtained before the case goes to a final court hearing, which means that most of the time the person suffering from the disease does not actually have to appear in court in person. Receiving state benefits doesn’t usually prevent a claim from being made although can affect the result to some degree.

An asbestos settlement can be very necessary to some patients as treatments can cost amounts approaching a million dollars.

You Need The Ordinary Airsoft Gun For Your Training Phase

Posted in Hobbies at 12:14 am by Anthony Carter

At the initial stage of using an airsoft gun, you should concentrate on learning the various rules and tactics to use the devise perfectly. You come to recognize several functions of the sport so that you are able to participate in competitive sports. Starting with an ordinary gun like the airsoft rifle or a pistol would suffice your need.

Competitions require the advanced type of guns which are very expensive and a fresher will never be able to handle those sophisticated replica guns if he is not well conversant with the technicalities of the equipment. Hence, the fresh candidate should give proper time to learn the peculiarities of the game and practice with an ordinary replica gun so that he becomes well versed with the use of the devise and enjoys the game. You can obtain an ordinary gun from the next departmental store nearby your house at a cheap price.

The spring-powered models are for single shot operation which requires manual power to use the spring to launch a pellet. You need to cock a spring gun before every shot that you have seen in the original rifle that works with bolts and the slide for pistols. They are low-powered guns and are cheaper in price and suited for the beginner to start learning the sport.

There are replica guns which use compressed gas to pull the spring back to fire a shot. The guns are merely for entertainment purpose and they should be used by anyone who is at least 18 years old, which is the current standard regulation.

Automatic electric guns are improved versions of this sport and utilize electric power to move the piston and spring to fore pellets. They are called AEG and are liked more by the young generation who has gathered some experience of the sport.

This sort of gun was present by the Tokyo Murai Company of Japan. They hold the better percentage of the market for AEGs till date. They are manufacture with such precision that it is difficult to differentiate between an original and a replica gun with the fine metal body or reinforced plastic cover.

The classic airsoft guns resemble older type of guns and are gas powered. They cost a little bit more than the usual AEG and are generally fitted with long range barrel. All the guns bear red dot sights for short range and telescopic sights for long range fire. Magazines look like the real ones with metal stamped or plastic coated materials. Magazines are of three types’ standard, low-capacity and high-capacity.

The older types of guns are also copied and the replica guns are known as classic guns. The appearance of magazines of airsoft guns are real looking and are available in both short and long ranges.

Past Life Secrets: Unlocking Your Mind’s Mysteries

Posted in Religion at 12:14 am by Susan M Mann

Many people believe in the idea of reincarnation, which is about the thought that people had a previous past life and that past life is said to have been affecting the current life in terms of self soul searching. People from all over the world: Japanese, Australian aborigines, Africans, modern Wiccans and many other New Age religions, have a strong belief on this idea.

Your health, your mental wellbeing, and your social interactions are impacted by each past life. For this reason, it is often a good idea to know thyself – to meet who you were in a past life, settle the demons that may be left over, and to integrate all the strengths you’ve accumulated over time so that you may be a stronger person now and in future lives.

How can you tell you have a past life? You may not be able to, but in many cases you will have disturbing dreams, or memories while you’re awake that do not belong to you. Many people who believe in reincarnation believe that we all have past lives (though if you do the math, it’s more probable that there are at least some new souls!) Other indications:

* When you saw or learned about a particular culture or arts, you already had a deep connection or attraction to that thing. Based on reincarnation idea, this may be because you were from that region or from that era. To be fully sure of this, you may want to learn some more culture or arts and discover your reactions and the effect it gives you; it may be linked to your origin in your past life.

* Abnormally strong emotions about some incident in history if, for instance, you tear up when you look at Washington Crossing the Delaware but not at any other revolutionary art, you may have been involved in that incident in a past life.

* Allergies or irrational fears that are not triggered by a childhood incident may be an indicator. There are particular physical and psychological issues may indicate a past life experience.

This is by no means an exhaustive list, and just the fact that you have one of these indicators does not mean you are remembering a past life. Look for patterns in your life, ranges of things that attract you for no good reason, and you may start to home in on similarities that will help you piece together an idea of what your past life or lives may have been.

You may be able to access your past life or past lives by being hypnotized by someone else or with self-hypnosis. You may find that a visit to a past life regression specialist well worth the time and money. Past life regression, is a deep hypnotic form of recalling memories from the subconscious mind.

If you decide to use self hypnosis to access your past life yourself, look for a technique that doubles as a deep relaxation method. Try to work with this technique for a while before using it for your regression.

In terms of safety there is nothing significant to worry about. What should happen is that you experience a past life vividly as if you were actually back in time. Although it may not be this intense you should still be able to experience shadows and feelings of a past life.

As you recall your life in the past, it will generate after effects in your feelings. If you feel good, your past life could have been good. If you feel bad after the process, your past life could have been bad as well. Although some memories and past life events are not good for you, it does not mean that you will have the same bad fate in the current life. It is only a recollection of your past life for your benefits.

What you should give importance to is the things that happened in your past that you need to know in order to make a change for the improvement of your current life. You have to understand and accept what you experienced in the past so you can start anew with your life.

There is a theory of Karma which says that, if we were good people in one life, and committed kind and positive acts, then we will have good Karma and subsequently, we will receive good in all future lives – unless we change and become bad people! If that happens, personal Karma changes and negative events will hound us throughout future lives until we have suffered enough to atone and revert back to being a good soul.

Not all people believe this idea because they thought that if someone was bad in the past life, there is no reason for him to suffer from the bad karma that might be due him in his past life. But the truth is, every one is entitled to have a new life ahead and every life is a chance to have a better life by choosing to do right in the current life.

Do Potential Employers Value Distance Learning Degrees?

Posted in Education at 12:09 am by Mary Jack

With the ability to keep working, take care of a family, and receive a quality education without relocating, distance learning degrees have continued to increase in popularity. Unfortunately, the Internet also provides a venue for bogus diploma mills sprouting up to make money on the sale of fake degrees. In a report published in 2003, USA Today says 400 such businesses are currently in operation, and the numbers are increasing as these dubious businesses continue to make approximately $500 million annually.

However, despite all the unpleasant information going around about distance learning degrees, the fact is there are plenty of legitimate universities and colleges offering online degree programs. These colleges are legitimate and not involved in any way in offering dubious and fake diplomas. Instead, these colleges are going the extra mile to provide quality education online by taking advantage of all available instructional resources such as quality instructional design coupled with video lectures, online digital libraries and proctored exams to ensure their students get quality education and a valid, qualified diploma. Unfortunately, numerous employers have not yet been sold into this alternative way of acquiring education, thus they still regard such degrees as invalid or dubious.

In an effort to change the negative perception, the U.S. National Education Board has established 6 accreditation agencies to evaluate and provide accreditation to the higher learning institutions meeting the minimum criteria for a quality education, thus differentiating between the bogus degree programs. For example, the Distance education and training council provides accreditation for those institutes solely dedicated to online degree programs. The agency is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

Other distinguished specialized accreditation agencies exists that are designed to accredit specific course programs. Programs that meet the set standards of excellence are given accreditation by these specialized accredit ting agencies based on area of specialization. A good example of such an accrediting agency is International Association for Management Education (AACSB) which accredits accounting related programs. Also American Health Information Management Association is tasked with accrediting health programs in different colleges. It is worthy to note that all these accreditation agencies have to be recognized by CHEA for them to be considered as legit agencies.

Why should a student be concerned about an educational institutions accreditation? Basically, it is to ensure everyone is receiving the same quality education, whether they are attending classes on campus or seeking distance learning degrees. Before granting accreditation for online degree programs, an agency assesses whether the basic requirements for support, education, and learning facilities are in place. In addition, specialized programs must submit curriculum to be evaluated, based upon the pre-determined standards of the specialty, regardless of the college or university.

Distance learning degrees from accredited institutions assure graduates, parents and prospective employers any degree earned is well deserved. The work completed has met the standards of adequately preparing people in their major area of study. Conversely, it also means colleges and universities not granted accreditation do not meet the standards of excellence required. Nevertheless, for the student who is only taking classes necessary to an area of specialization, only the courses need that all important stamp of approval.

Nevertheless, in the end, it all comes down to the discretion of the employer. He or she must decide whether potential employees have satisfactorily completed an online degree program. Hopefully, with accreditation through a well recognized agency, the confusion can be eliminated, and a valid resume will make it to the short list of excellent candidates with their distance learning degrees as an impressive symbol of fortitude and dedication to personal achievement.

The author writes articles on legit distance learning degrees and programs and campus-based colleges and universities for your educational goals.

Making Dried Fruit & Grain Homemade Wine Is Easier Than You Think

Posted in Home Business at 12:09 am by Olivia Frisch

The making of wines from dried fruits and grain is delicately popular to the townsman for these ingredients can easily obtainable plus they make good wines. The mixtures of dried fruit and grains make for strong, but not too fully flavored wines are often likened to whiskeys and brandies.

Recipes for making fruit wines allow tannin in the fruits. Tannin is an important part of the flavour of the wine; though few people realize it. Yet they soon know when there is too much because the wine takes on the flavour or ‘tang’ of strong unsweetened tea. Note. The little tannin has given to fruit wines are usually just the right amount. Usually, there is no tannin present in dried fruit wines. Thus, it is as well to add one tablespoonful of freshly made tea-not too strong-to make a good deficiency. Special grape tannin is available, but tea is a cheap and handy source of which you might as well make use. In addition, you can include tea in the recipes.

CANADIAN WHISKY 2 lb. wheat, 2 lb. raisins, 1 lemon, 4 oranges, 3 lb. sugar, 1 oz. yeast, 5 qts. water, 1 tablespoonful of freshly made tea. 1.Boil half the water with half the sugar for one minute and then pour on the wheat and raisins. Put the lot into the fermenting vessel and squeeze in the juice of the lemon. Cut up the oranges and their peel and put these with the rest. Work the orange peel between the fingers to press out the oil as much as you can. When cool add the yeast and ferment for ten days. Then strain out the solids and wring out as dry as you can and put the strained liquor into a gallon jar with a tablespoonful of freshly made tea. 2.Boil the rest of the sugar and water of one minute and when this is cool add to the rest. Cover as directed or fit fermentation lock and leave until all fermentation has ceased.

DATE WINE 3 lb. of packeted or loose dates, 1 lemons, 6 oranges, 2 lb. sugar, 9 pts. water, 1 oz. yeast 1 tablespoonful of freshly made tea. The method of preparing ingredients and for making this wine is identical to that given in the recipe for making dried apricot wine. Date wine has very little flavour of its own, thus lemons and oranges must be added to give a nice flavour, and the amount of oranges here will make it into a lovely wine. But if you wish to make a wine of little flavour for some special purpose, let’s say for example, blending it with one that has too much flavour or for flavoring as you wish with an extract or whatever you may have in mind, then use no oranges at all. PRUNE AND RAISIN VINTAGE 3 lb. prunes, 1 lb. raisins, 1 lb. wheat, 2 lemons, 2 oranges, 3 lb. sugar, 9 pts. water, 1 oz. yeast.

1.Prepare the raisins, prunes and wheat as has already been advised. Then put them with the sliced oranges and lemons in the fermenting vessel. 2.Boil half the sugar in 7 pints water for two minutes and pour over the ingredients while still boiling. 3.Allow to cool and add the yeast. 4.Cover as directed and ferment the mixture for 10 days. Crush it well each day and stir up the wheat and cover again at once. 5.After 10 days, strain out the solids, and wring out as dry as you can and put the strained liquor in a gallon of jar. 6.Boil the rest of the sugar in the remaining two pints of water and when cool add it to the rest. 7.Cover as directed or fit fermentation lock and leave until all fermentation has ceased. IRISH WHISKEY 2 lb. wheat, 1 lb. raisins, 1 lb. potatoes, 2 lemons, 4 oranges, 1 oz. yeast, 3 lb. sugar, 9 pts. water.

RAISIN WINE 3 lb. raisins, 3 lemons, 2 lb. sugar, 9 pts. water, 1 oz. yeast, 1 tablespoonful of freshly made tea. 1.Less sugar than usual is required here because the large amount of raisins will give a lot of sugar to the wine – which will not be dry. For a dry raisin wine use only one and a quarter pound of sugar. Put the raisins and the sliced lemons and the tea in the Fermenting vessel. 2.Boil all the sugar in all the water (or half the water at a time if your saucepan is on the small side), and add the rest while boiling. 3.When cool, add the yeast and ferment for fourteen days, stirring daily and covering again at once. Strain and wring out as dry as you can and put the strained liquor into a gallon jar. Cover as directed or fit fermentation lock and leave until all fermentation has ceased.

What An Undertaker Does In A Funeral Service

Posted in Business And Finance at 12:06 am by Ynez Alvarez

Undertakers or funeral directors are perhaps the most important people, apart from the family and clergymen to be associated with the funeral service. These professionals manage the arrangements of the funeral, straight from the beginning till the end. Undertakers have to be prepared to work any time of the day and any day of the year without fail, as they have an emergency job.

A number of decisions have to be taken in the event of a person’s death, which the bereaved family may not be able to take because of the sudden loss that befalls them. An undertaker acts as an advisor required to take such decisions. He takes fast and sound decisions about the time, location and type of the funeral service. In Addition, the undertaker assists you in getting to grips with your loss, as he stays by your side and plans the whole funeral, allowing you to show your immense love and respect for the departed person.

The first step in organising any funeral service is to deliberate upon the time, place and date of the funeral service, so that the same can be communicated to friends and family. After this has been finalised, the undertaker makes preparations for shifting the body to the funeral home or where it is to be laid to rest. In case of a burial service, the right casket in which the body is to be rested is often selected by the undertaker.

The undertaker handles every aspect of the funeral service, including arranging for flowers, hearse, luncheon, priests, choristers, ashes and headstone, and any other detail that should be focused upon. All plans are made by the undertaker taking into account the wishes of the family members so that the departed gets due respect in the funeral service.

Lastly, some undertakers also help in proper embalming and transportation of the body if required, and in planning and arranging for the funeral service in another country if the person has died abroad.

Traditions And Customs Followed In A Buddhist Funeral

Posted in Business And Finance at 12:13 am by Joy Tan

In a Buddhist funeral, the followers of the faith believe in carrying out detailed rites and ceremonies during the funeral service. The rituals performed during the Buddhist funeral are believed to liberate the deceased person’s soul from the chains of life and enable it to find a new and better life after death where it gets closer to Moksha.

The Buddhist funeral services which end with cremation in most cases, are carried out by Buddhist monks with the aid of the bereaved family. The dormant positive energies are freed from the soul by the chanting of appropriate sutras by monks who read from the religious books. Meanwhile, the body is made ready and preserved so that even if the cremation takes place after some days of the death, the body doesn’t decompose. Once the body is bathed, it is placed along with candlesticks, bouquets and incense in a casket along with a picture of the dead person.

If the funeral is deferred by a few days for distant relatives to get a last look, the monks go to the dead person’s residence daily and chant verses from the Abhidharma, an important Buddhist book.

On the day of the funeral, monks perform the final rituals and their head monk delivers a short speech in tribute to the dead person highlighting his contributions in life and comforting the aggrieved family that death is inevitable. During the last stage of religious chanting and service, the coffin is wrapped in white cloth and a rite of conveying blessings and positive energies to the deceased’s soul, known as ‘Pansakula’ is done.

Just before cremation, a member of the family or a near and dear one is asked to make a short speech about the deceased. The Buddhist funeral services conclude with a light feast for the attendees after the funeral.

Some alterations in the specific rituals may be found in various cultures, but these are the important ceremonies followed during a Buddhist funeral in many countries like China, Thailand, and Tibet by the followers of the religion.
