Use LED Television Reviews And Choose Your Set

Posted in Computers And Internet at 12:21 am by John Leonard

As with any new technology, it is important to do some research before you buy an LED TV. LED television reviews will tell you the good, the bad and the ugly about LED TV. By reading these LED television reviews, you may decide that you want to go ahead with your purchase or to go in a different direction. Good reviews are a key to being satisfied with your purchase.

LCD television technology is not that old. It gave us thinner screen televisions that could hang on the wall with little floor space. Pictures were good, although they could never be true rivals to the plasma television.

The back lighting source was the main problem with LCD televisions. LCD televisions were back lit with fluorescent tubes. Those tubes begin to lose their brightness after a few years. The lack of brightness means that pictures loose quality. There is no provision for replacing the tubes so the entire set needs replacement every three to four years. Additionally, fluorescent light is poor light for the many colors needed by television.

Enter the LED television. The only technological difference between an LED and an LCD television is the source of back lighting. The newer LED sets are back lit with LED lights. These are the same lights that have become popular in Christmas lights, flashlights and now for home use. LED lights have a very long life (home lamps are said to last for as long as twenty years) and produce a high quality white light. They do not have the color gaps that florescent lamps have. When added to a television, this literally means that the set can now show every color of the rainbow.

LED lamps also consume less energy. Ultimately this could mean lower power bills for the consumer. If we consume less power, the power companies will not have to expand their facilities and rates can be kept down.

The final difference is that with LED lighting, television sets can be made much thinner than the three inch deep sets made possible with LCD technology. Sets may soon be available that are only one-half of an inch thick. These sets will lend themselves even more to wall mounting and may need no television stand on which to sit.

LED televisions can have very large screens without the bulk of a projection television. They are great for the football season as well as for viewing movies and television shows.

Know how to read television reviews? Numerical ratings mean little without the actual reviews. See why people make the ratings that they make. Beware of people that give good ratings when they do not like a product. You can find extremely important information by reading the rating in full.

Some people do not have it within themselves to give a perfect score, even if they are extremely satisfied with a product. Read the report to get their true opinion of a product.

Remember you need to actually view a product before purchase. The real opinion that will matter about a LED television review is your own. If you do not like the set, then read more reviews and check out more sets until you find the perfect one just for you.
