What’s Happening on May 19th 2008?

May 19th 2008 is a big day for the WHA (World Hepatitis Alliance) as it marks their World Hepatitis Awareness Day, which is supported by their 2008 campaign ‘Am I Number 12?’. This campaign which can be found at www.aminumber12.org refers to the uncommonly known statistic that one in twelve people globally have contracted the disease.

This is the fourth year that the WHA has been campaigning to notify the general public of the huge risks posed by Hepatitis, and what can be done to urge Health Organisations to provide more adequate treatment for sufferers. The majority of people in the world know little about Hepatitis; let’s hope that this changes when we reach May 19th.
